Following up definitive ‘Essential Mix Masters’ sessions with late Chicago house godfather Frankie Knuckles and New York’s own Erick Morillo, Pete Tong has lined up true techno legend Sven Väth for the third installment in this ongoing series.
Over the past 16 summer seasons, the Cocoon boss has been curating his Monday nights at Ibiza’s Amnesia as well as turning out mesmerizing underground weapons for his signature label since 2000. On his seamless two-hour Essential Mix, the German veteran delivers an impressive masterclass showcasing the past, present and future of his Cocoon camp, featuring standout selections from Boys Noize, Daniel Stefanik, Phil Kieran and more.
“When I was asked to do this Essential Mix I thought it would be special to compile a selection of tracks from my label Cocoon Recordings,” he says at the show’s opening. “You’ll hear old stuff, current releases and some unreleased music which will be out soon.”
