Our favourite house lord Green Velvet has released a new Podcast via his Soundcloud and it’s all raking up thousands of plays and likes.

Revered as a pioneer of the Chicago house scene Green Velvet (real name Curtis Stone) has quite the list of impressive achievements.

He studied chemical engineering in Illinois in the late 80s early 1990s which is how he originally became exposed to and influenced by the Chicago house scene. His tracks Coffee Pot (it’s time for the Perculator), Flash and La La Land have become classic house hits, being played and remixed by some if the biggest names in the biz several times, over a decade later.

Many years ago I had the chance to see Green Velvet play, and he was dope. I can remember the event like it was yesterday, he rocked up with Felix Da Housecat and they did the whole set together, completely unplanned and unannounced.

And guess what!? Green Velvet still has the power to get people moving. All those years ago I danced most weekends away and witnessed a lot of awesome things but this set definately stood out in my memory. Just straight up good house & techno with enough jack and groove to really raise the roof and get ya blood pumping.

The tracklist is short, the mix is short but it packs a powerful punch. 30 minutes of madness. Techno the way it should be. Dark and edgy, no mucking about. Lovely sounding Techno, which proves to the world that classic chicago house and Techno ain’t going nowhere, it’s back in a big way baby! And it’s here to stay.
