GERD JANSON DROPS STAND OUT ESSENTIAL MIX
If you’re unfamiliar with the German DJ and producer, these days he’s probably best known for his Running Back imprint, which saw releases from Call Super, Fort Romeau, Henrik Schwarz, Special Request, Paul Woolford and Leon Vynehall in the past year or so.
As a DJ, Janson holds residencies at Robert Johnson and Panorama Bar, while regularly playing top clubs like fabric, DC-10, XOYO and Sub Club, with festivals like Snowbombing, DGTL Amsterdam, The Rainbow Arena’s Chapter XIII and Love International still to come in 2017.
He’s also behind some seriously sick mix compilations, including fabric:89 and his Music For Autobahns series, and as a producer has featured on on imprints like Permanent Vacation and Smalltown Supersound. He’s also one half of Tuff City Kids wtih Phillip Lauer, releasing on Retrograde and Freebase.
Gerd’s longstanding love affair with classic and uplifting house sounds mixed with disco underpinnings are on full display for his debut Essential Mix, with tracks from Fatima Yamaha, John Talabot and Frankie Knuckles shining through.
